The Arab-Israeli conflict is not about land. Take a look at the map – Israel is colored yellow. All in green are Muslim lands.

Obviously the conflict is not about land.

Then what IS it about?

Abraham had two sons. The first, Ishmael, is the father of the Arabs. The second, Isaac, is the father of the Jews. God said his covenant is with Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob. And thus the “everlasting hatred” was born in the hearts of the descendants of Ishmael. Ishmael has a demonic hatred for Israel and for the Jews.

God doesn’t do things according to man’s rules. In fact, he deliberately makes that clear to test man, to see who will trust him regardless of his not “making sense” in the human way.

“For my thoughts are not your thoughts,
nor are your ways my ways,” says the Lord.
“For as the heavens are higher than the earth,
so are my ways higher than your ways,
and my thoughts than your thoughts.”
Isaiah 55:8-9

God chose to deed the land of Canaan to the sons of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob. Anyone who refuses that, stands against almighty God himself.

* “On the same day the Lord made a covenant with Abram, saying: “To your descendants I have given this land, from the river of Egypt to the great river, the River Euphrates.”
Genesis 15:18

* “I will establish my covenant between me and you and your descendants after you in their generations, for an EVERLASTING COVENANT, to be God to you and your descendants after you. Also I give to you and your descendants after you the land in which you are a stranger, ALL THE LAND OF CANAAN as an EVERLASTING possession; and I will be their God.”
Genesis 17:7-8

* “He has remembered his covenant forever, the word which he commanded, for a thousand generations, the covenant which he made with ABRAHAM, and his oath to ISAAC, and confirmed it to JACOB for a statute, to ISRAEL for an everlasting covenant, saying, ‘To you I will give the land of Canaan as the allotment of your inheritance…’”
Psalms 105:6-11

So herein lies the conflict: God deliberately chooses people, places, and things, that will test the heart of man in order to separate those who trust his integrity versus those who trust their own “wisdom.” In the end, it will be shown that the wisdom of man is far inferior to the Word of God.
