Name It And Claim It?

They prey upon the hurting. They tell people that their way out of trouble is to send a “gift” to their ministry. They are liars. The worst of the worst.

They take money from the gullible, or from the desperate, and with that money they buy jet planes and live in mansions.

I wouldn’t want to see the day when they will stand before God and account for the heresies they have spoken in his Name. And especially, the heresies they have used by quoting Scripture, the Bible, to get people to think they’re godly.

THEY STRONGLY CLAIM THAT GOD ALWAYS WILL HEAL IF YOU HAVE ENOUGH FAITH

The heresy they are most noted for is their contention that healing is always God’s will. If you follow their directions and use your “authority” against illness, God will always be willing to heal, they say.

Well …does God agree with that?

Uh, no.

He often says the opposite:

“The Lord kills and makes alive;
he brings down to the grave and brings up.
The Lord makes poor and makes rich;
he brings low and lifts up.”
1st Samuel 2:6-7

Paul didn’t claim his friend’s healing, he left him sick:

“Erastus stayed in Corinth,
but Trophimus I have left in Miletus sick.”
2nd Timothy 4:20

I guess Paul didn’t have enough faith?

He should have used the “faith” teaching of the con men like Kenneth Copeland. But the kicker is that Kenneth Copeland wears a pacemaker, and his wife isn’t preaching anymore because of declining health. ???

He also wears hearing aids and battles arthritis.Cite

IS IT ALWAYS GOD’S WILL TO HEAL?

No, God says it is HE who makes a person deaf or blind.

“Who has made man’s mouth?
Or who makes the mute, the deaf,
the seeing, or the blind?
Have not I, the Lord?”
Exodus 4:11

“No longer drink only water,
but use a little wine for your stomach’s sake
and your frequent infirmities.”
1st Timothy 5:23

Um, wouldn’t it be better to proclaim healing for his “frequent infirmities?”

SOMETIMES THE WILL OF GOD MUST INCLUDE SUFFERING

Are you suffering? Don’t you know you can resist all suffering because it’s a curse and you don’t have to live with it?

Except that God says the opposite:

“Let them that suffer according to the will of God
commit the keeping of their souls to him in well doing,
as unto a faithful Creator.”
1st Peter 4:19

SOMETIMES GOD BRINGS GRIEF

God wants you to be healthy, happy, and prosperous. So if you have a traumatic experience come against you, you need to take your “authority” and command it to leave. And if it doesn’t, it’s because you don’t have enough “faith.” And again, it seems God doesn’t agree:

Because sometimes God chooses not to heal. Sometimes it’s the only way he can get someone’s attention.

“Though he causes grief, yet he will show compassion…”
Lamentations 3:32

SOMETIMES BELIEVERS ARE ACTUALLY APPOINTED TO AFFLICTIONS

“…no one should be shaken by these afflictions;
for you yourselves know that we are appointed to this.”
1st Thessalonians 3:3

…be watchful in all things,
ENDURE AFFLICTIONS,
do the work of an evangelist, fulfill your ministry.”

THAT CURIOUS WORD “GRANTED”

“For to you it has been granted on behalf of Christ,
not only to believe in him,
but also to suffer for his sake…
having the same conflict.”
Philippians 1:29-30

“Therefore let those who suffer according to the will of God
commit their souls to him in doing good, as to a faithful Creator.”
1st Peter 4:19

GOD TESTS BELIEVERS

“…the Lord your God led you all the way these forty years in the wilderness,
to humble you and test you…”

GOD HIMSELF BRINGS BELIEVERS INTO AFFLICTION

“And though the Lord give you
the bread of adversity and the water of affliction,
yet your Teacher will not hide himself any more,
but your eyes shall see your Teacher.”
Isaiah 30:20

“But may the God of all grace,
who called us to his eternal glory by Christ Jesus,
after you have suffered a while,
perfect, establish, strengthen, and settle you.”
1st Peter 5:10

“If we suffer, we shall also reign with him:”

DENY MYSELF?

It doesn’t say, “Take up your Rolex and follow me.”

It says:

“If anyone desires to come after me,
let him deny himself, and take up his cross, and follow me.
For whoever desires to save his life will lose it,
but whoever loses his life for my sake will find it.”
Matthew 16:24-25

RICHES?

“But those who desire to be rich
fall into temptation and a snare,
and into many foolish and harmful lusts
which drown men in destruction and perdition.
For the love of money is a root of all kinds of evil,
for which some have strayed from the faith in their greed,
and pierced themselves through with many sorrows.”
1st Timothy 5:9-10

FALSE PROPHETS PROPHESY FALSELY AND ARE CALLED “HORRIBLE”

“ An astonishing and horrible thing
has been committed in the land:
The prophets prophesy falsely,
and the priests rule by their own power;
and my people love to have it so.”
Jeremiah 5:30-31

“…useless wranglings of men of corrupt minds
and destitute of the truth,
who suppose that godliness is a means of gain.
From such withdraw yourself.”

THE APOSTLE PAUL’S TESTIMONY

“I have worked much harder,
been in prison more frequently,
been flogged more severely,
and been exposed to death again and again.
Five times I received from the Jews the forty lashes minus one.
Three times I was beaten with rods, once I was pelted with stones,
three times I was shipwrecked, I spent a night and a day in the open sea,
I have been constantly on the move.
I have been in danger from rivers, in danger from bandits,
in danger from my fellow Jews, in danger from Gentiles;
in danger in the city, in danger in the country, in danger at sea;
and in danger from false believers.
I have labored and toiled and have often gone without sleep;
I have known hunger and thirst and have often gone without food;
I have been cold and naked. Besides everything else,
I face daily the pressure of my concern for all the churches.”
2nd Corinthians 11:23-28
